A community in Preston County, Albright, WV, is located near the site of Butler's Fort, built before 1774. Here are the Muddy Creek Park and the sites of Samuel Crane's early gristmill, built on land patented in 1787, and the Virginia Iron Furnace, built by Harrison in 1852.

Albright is located near Kingwood, WV, on the Cheat River, a popular fishing and whitewater rafting stream. Thousands of rafters and kayakers run its rapids every spring. Many paddlers launch at Albright and follow the river downstream through its gorge to Cheat Lake, WV.
