Appalachian Bible College is an independent non-denominational, fundamental institution associated with Bible and Baptist churches. ABC is particularly well known for its unique outdoors-recreation programs, which include caving, rock climbing, mountain biking and whitewater rafting in the adjacent New River Gorge National River. The college stresses such outdoor activities as an important of Christian youth educational programs. ABC is located off Interstate 77 and 64, two-miles north of Beckley, WV, the commercial center of southern West Virginia.
