Auburn, West Virginia
From West Virginia (WV) Cyclopedia
A Ritchie County community incorporated in 1900, formerly known as Bone Creek and Newburg. The name "Auburn" was suggested in 1871 by Major Joseph C. Gluck, apparently because "the word is easy to spell and write." The town is located on Bone Creek, 10-miles south of the U.S. 50 expressway.
