The Bear Rock Lakes Wildlife Management Area (WMA) -- 242 acres -- is primarily covered in open field and mixed hardwoods and includes four ponds (two with wheelchair access). Deer, rabbit, squirrel and turkey are the area's principal game species, though hunting is limited as a result of its small size. Bear Lake (eight acre), Rock Lake (four acre), Baker Lake (three acre), and Wood Pond (half-an-acre) provide for good warmwater species and trout fishing. A boat launch ramp is located on Bear Lake. Bear Rock Lakes is located off US-40, two-miles west of Valley Grove and the Interstate-70 (I-70) Dallas Pike exit. Visitors may take West Alexander Road to Stoolfire Road to Park Hill Road. Overnight camping and open fires are prohibited. Toilets are available. Information provided by WVDNR.
