Beckley Intermodal Gateway

The Beckley Intermodal Gateway, or BIG, is a controversial economic-development plan publicly proposed in 2007 to re-use a high-profile section of the Beckley Courthouse Square Historic District in Beckley, WV. However, BIG planners quickly generated suspicion by neglecting to inform of the Beckley Historical Landmarks Commission of any plans. The commission is that arm of city government charged with overseeing development in the district.
