Blackwater Falls State Park (map (http://www.wvamaps.com/maps/index.php?place=Blackwater%20Falls%20State%20Park&state=WV&lon=-79.4956&lat=39.1119&pop=0&county=Tucker&elev=0&scale=3)), 2 m SE of Davis, WV, in Tucker County, protects more than 2,000 wooded acres of Appalachian uplands including part of the canyon of the Blackwater River and its famous "Blackwater Falls". The park is located just west of the Canaan Valley ski areas and so is a popular year-round park, offering cross-country skiing on its trails in winter as well as a sledding park.
