Bridge Area

The Bridge Area is one of the most popular of all climbing areas in the New River Gorge, and is located immediately adjacent to the New River Gorge Bridge. Easy access, convenient parking, and moderate routes attract many first-time climbers to the Bridge Area. Most cliffs range in height from 30 to 90 feet. The first ascents at the bridge were made in the 1970s, and the area was long the primary climbing area in the gorge. The Junkyard Wall climbing area extends to the north of the bridge climbing area.
