Brooks Ledges

From West Virginia (WV) Cyclopedia

This Class II rapid on the Upper New River Gorge whitewater rafting segment forms near the head of Brooks Island. The rapids may be created in part by bedrock nearing the surface of the New River. The rapids are located approximately three fourths of a mile downstream of Brooks Falls. Well upstream of un-runnable Sandstone Falls, the Brooks Ledges are better known to anglers than whitewater rafters.
