Brooks Ledges
From West Virginia (WV) Cyclopedia
These Class II rapids on the Upper New River Gorge whitewater rafting segment form near the head of Brooks Island and are located approximately three fourths of a mile downstream of Brooks Falls. The rapids may be created in part by bedrock nearing the surface of the New River. Well upstream of un-runnable Sandstone Falls, the Brooks Ledges are better known to anglers than whitewater rafters.
