Burning Rock

From West Virginia (WV) Cyclopedia

Burning Rock is a summit on Huff Mountain in southern West Virginia that reaches 3,000 feet above sea level and is the highest point on the mountain. The knob, and rock, at a common corner of Logan County and Wyoming County, take their name for underground drafts that vented near the peak, producing an upwelling of warm air that melted snow near the summit. They drafts may have been ruined by mining in the 1970s.

The Burning Rock Off-Road Park, in Raleigh County, is an commercial off-road vehicle touring center.
