A community in Marshall County, Cameron, WV, was incorporated in 1861 and named for Samuel Cameron, a right-of-way agent for the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad (B&O) prior to the construction of the railroad into that community. The community thrived until the B&O railroad line was decommissioned and removed, and many of its commercial buildings now stand empty. The area around Cameron is rural and agricultural.
