Cathedral State Park

Cathedral State Park (map (http://www.wvamaps.com/maps/index.php?place=Cathedral%20State%20Park&state=WV&lon=-79.5389&lat=39.3264&pop=0&county=Preston&elev=0&scale=3)), in Preston County, near Terra Alta, WV, preserves 133 acres of forest, including areas of virgin hemlock wherein trees reach 90 feet high and 21 feet in circumference. The state's largest hemlock, the Centennial Hemlock, is also located within Cathedral State Park. In 1966, the park was added to the National Registry for Natural Historical Landmarks for its "exceptional value in illustrating the natural history of the United States."
