Chester Teapot

From West Virginia (WV) Cyclopedia

The Chester Teapot, in Chester, WV, may be the World's Largest Teapot. It measures 14 feet high and 14 feet in diameter. It was brought to Chester in 1938 to market a pottery enterprise and was formerly a Hires Root Beer barrel advertisement. The teapot underwent a restoration, completed by the citizens of Chester, in 1990. The teapot can even be made to appear to produce steam. The building is now located along U.S. Highway 30 (US-30) in Hancock County near the Jennings Randolph Bridge over the Ohio River. The park is a favorite photo stop for tourists visiting the nearby Mountaineer Casino Resort & Race Track.
