Cirtsville, in north-central Raleigh County, located four-miles northwest of Beckley, WV, is an unincorporated community located along the upper Paint Creek, a tributary of the Kanawha River.According to the 1916 West Virginia Geological & Economic Survey of Raleigh County, Cirtsville, population 500, was located on the Virginian Railway and boasted a church, two stores, a lumber mill, and a gristmill. Its economy was then dependent on timbering, coal mining, and agriculture.
