Colcord, in northwestern Raleigh County, is an unincorporated rural village and a former coal mining community. Colcord is located on Sycamore Creek, a tributary of the Clear Fork of Coal River. The 1916 West Virginia Geological and Economic Survey of Raleigh County reported that Colcord was a mining and lumbering town, home to 200 residents, and was the terminus of the Cabin Creek extension of the Marsh Fork Branch of the Chesapeake & Ohio Railway.
The First Presbyterian Church of Colcord is listed on the Raleigh County Register of Historic Places.
