Concord University, formerly Concord College, was established Concord State Normal School in 1872 for the purpose of preparing teachers for public schools. Today Concord offers programs in business, education, liberal arts, social sciences, travel-and-tourism, public administration, entrepreneurial studies. More than 2,500 students are enrolled annually. The university's campus is located in a charming historic district about 8 miles from I-77 at Princeton, WV, and the Bluestone National Scenic River.
