A community in McDowell County, Davy, WV was incorporated in 1948. Originally known as Hallsville, name changed to Davy in 1901. The community flourished during the coal boom era as a residential town in a coal mining district on the main line of the Norfolk & Western Railroad (http://www.wvrailroads.net/index.php/Norfolk_%26_Western_Railway) (N&W), now the Norfork Southern Corp.
