A community in Mingo County, Delbarton, WV was incorporated in 1947. Named in honor of one of the officials of The United Thacker Land County. Located about 8 miles northeast of Williamson, Delbarton is one of many communities in the region created during the development of the Williamson Coal Field, which occurred after the Norfolk & Western Railway (http://www.wvrailroads.net/index.php/Norfolk_%26_Western_Railway) (N&W) built a line through the region in the 1890's.
