Dunbar, West Virginia

A community in Kanawha County, Dunbar, WV was not incorporated until 1921 although the town was laid out by Hon. Fred P. Grosscup of Charleston in 1912. Dunbar was named for Dunbar Baines, a prominent Charleston banker and lawyer. The town is located on the north side of the Kanawha River.
