Braxton County: at Falls Mill, WV
On the Little Kanawha River, this wide chute falls is among the best known waterfalls in West Virginia. Wide rather than high, the falls tumble across a low sandstone shelf between two rock cliffs. The falls are on average 90 feet wide and drop 15 feet. A picnic area, restrooms, walking trail, and observation areas are located at the falls. The falls area is part of the Burnsville Lake Wildlife Management Area.
