Fern Buttress

Fern Buttress is one of the least-visited climbing areas in the New River Gorge, largely because its fame is overshadowed by that of the Endless Wall, to the south, and the Bridge Area, to the north. Its cliffs range in height 40 to 80 feet and are slabbed to vertical. Many low- to moderate-grade crack and corner climbs are found throughout the formation.
