A community in Brooke County on the Ohio River, Follansbee, WV, was incorporated in 1905. Name derived from Follansbee Steel Corporation, owners of a large steel mill in that city. Wheeling-Nisshan (http://www.wheeling-nisshin.com/) now operates a large galvanized steel processing plant in Follansbee.
