Freezeland Mountain (elev. 3,430 ft.) is a summit in southern West Virginia located northeast of Flat Top Mountain. It is sometimes considered part of White Oak Mountain. A local legend holds that the mountain takes its name from winter temperatures that are relatively frigid in comparison to those in the lowlands of the New River Gorge to its east. However, its origin may derive from one of several European provinces known as Friesland. The mountain is sometime referred to as one of the Flat Top Mountains.
