Gaudineer Knob, and the Gaudineer Scenic Area, cap the summit of Shaver's Fork Mountain 5.5 miles NW of Durbin, West Virginia on the border of Pocahontas County and Randolph County off U.S. Route 250.
Part of the Monongahela National Forest, fifty acres near the knob have been preserved. Virgin red spruce within the scenic area were once common in the surrounding Allegheny Mountains region highland areas of West Virginia. Some trees therein range up to 40 inches in diameter and are more than 300 years old.
