Hedgesville Historic District

In Berkeley County, in Hedgesville, WV, the Hedgesville National Historic District preserves Victorian-style homes located just off Interstate 81 south of Martinsburg, WV. In 1832 Josiah Hedges laid out the town at a heavily-traveled gap in North Mountain. The town spring provided water for the entire village. Many town structures are built of log. The Mount Zion Episcopal Church was built in 1818. Shops and country inns attract many tourists.
