Hinton Historic District
From West Virginia (WV) Cyclopedia
In Hinton, WV, in central Summers County, the Hinton National Historic District preserves the architecture of a post-Civil War boomtown on the Chesapeake & Ohio Railroad. Though much has yet to be restored, the historic culture of the Summers County town shines through in its railroad depot (http://www.wvrailroads.net/index.php/Hinton_Depot_-_Scale_Drawings) and multi-towered Summers County Courthouse. The Hinton Railroad Museum (http://www.wvrailroads.net/index.php/Hinton_Railroad_Museum) has also been restored and is open to the public.
