From West Virginia (WV) Cyclopedia
In Hinton, WV, in Summers County, the Hinton National Historic District preserves the architecture of this late-1800s boomtown on the Chesapeake & Ohio Railroad. Though much has yet to be restored, the architecture of the town shines through in its Victorian Depot (http://www.wvrailroads.net/index.php/Hinton_Depot_-_Scale_Drawings) and many towered Summers County Courthouse. The Hinton Railroad Museum (http://www.wvrailroads.net/index.php/Hinton_Railroad_Museum) has also been restored and is open to the public.
