Built in 1852, it is believed to be the first frame church in present-day Summers County and was built in the Greek Revival style and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Brothers Gorden and Thomas Jordan furnished the land and lumber for the chapel, and donated the building to the Methodist Episcopal Church. The chapel stands in a bend in the road on Tallery Mountain about one mile northwest of a historic marker commemorating the site along W.Va. Route 20. The chapel is a popular point-of-interest for vacationers lodging at Pipestem State Park. The property is owned by the United Methodist Church.
