Lapoe Site

From West Virginia (WV) Cyclopedia

Located in Monongalia County, this site was discovered by a farmer when plowing his fields in the 1960s, a number of Native American burials and post molds as well as 16th -17th century trade items were uncovered. Infrared photography suggests that a circular Native American village was on the site.
