Lewisburg, WV (map (http://www.wvamaps.com/index.php/?place=Lewisburg&state=wv&lat=37.8017&lon=-80.4458&elev=2099&pop=3624)), the county seat of Greenbrier County, was incorporated in 1782 as Lewisburg, by the State of Virginia. The history of town dates back to Camp Union in 1774. Camp Union was the rendezvous point of the army of General Andrew Lewis (after whom the town was named) preparatory to his march to participate in the Battle of Point Pleasant, during Dunmore's War, the last between the white settlers and Native Americans east of the Ohio River. Inns, shops, cafes, and restaurants open onto its short streets. Its galleries and theaters are busy year-round.
