May Moore Mound

Located on WV 2, two-miles north of Ben Lomond, WV, in Mason County, the May Moore Mound is one of the larger Native American burial mounds in West Virginia. It has never been properly excavated, but was probably built by the Adena people between 500 B.C. and A.D. 1. Several smaller "Indian mounds" are also said to exist in this area.
