Michael Mountain
From West Virginia (WV) Cyclopedia
Michael Mountain, in Greenbrier County and Pocahontas County, runs southwest to northeast following the general trend of the Appalachian Mountains. Part of the Appalachian Valley & Ridge Region, the mountain is dramatically folded. Where Knapp's Creek cuts a gorge across the mountain, this fold has been exposed as a rock formation known locally as Devils Backbone.
