Middleway Historic District

In Berkeley County, south of Martinsburg, WV, the Middleway Historic District preserves the Revolutionary War-era character of this infamous village. Long known as Wizard's Clip, Middleway was haunted by the ghost of a traveller who was denied a Catholic burial by a Protestant homeowner he was lodging with. Legend holds that the travellers ghost would clip the clothes of people who visited the area.
