In Moorefield, WV, in Hardy County, the Moorefield National Historic Districts helps preserve the late-1700s character of this beautiful village on the South Branch of the Potomac River. Established in 1777, the town was the commercial center of the South Branch Valley. Highlights include the Old Stone Tavern (c.1788) and the McMechen House Inn.
