Race Track at Mountaineer Casino Resort
Mountaineer Casino Resort & Race Track, on the Ohio River near Chester, WV, is especially popular with visitors from nearby Akron, Pittsburgh, Youngstown, and Cleveland. Formerly the "Mountaineer Race Track & Gaming Resort," the term casino was added to its title in 2007 after the legalization of table gambling in Hancock County.

The Mountaineer Casino's Grande Hotel affords more than 350 guest rooms adjacent to the casino, as well as a spa, fitness center, and indoor swimming area. Eight restaurants and five lounges are located throughout the complex and at the adjacent Mountaineer Racetrack. A theater, a convention center, and an 18-hole golf course are among the casino's chief non-gaming draws. Live thoroughbred horse racing at the Mountaineer track is scheduled weekly, Saturday through Tuesday.

The Mountaineer Casino Resort & Race Track is located on WV-2 along the Ohio River about four miles west of Chester, WV, and 30 miles north of Wheeling, WV. Less than a mile from the casino, Tomlinson Run State Park is a favorite natural getaway spot for resort visitors. The Homer Laughlin China Company, located in nearby Newell, WV, remains the sole producer of the highly collectible Fiesta Dinnerware.
