Ohio Valley University is a Christian institution for higher education affiliated with the Church of Christ. Degree programs include business, elementary education, secondary education, liberal studies, psychology, and Bible. Ohio Valley's intercollegiate sports teams are the "Fighting Scots."
OVU offered its first classes in 1960 in the former South Parkersburg Church of Christ. Its first campus was established in 1963 on 133 acres adjoining Parkersburg and Vienna. A second campus on 134 acres became the Ohio Valley University North Campus in the fall of 1994.
