Pratt, West Virginia

From West Virginia (WV) Cyclopedia

A community in Kanawha County. Incorporated in 1905. Originally named Clifton, name changed to Dego 1870, then changed to Pratt in 1899, that name derived from the family name of Charles K. Pratt of New York, whose company acquired vast timber and coal holdings at that place about the year 1899, and later developed the Paint Creek section.
