Pricketts Fort State Park

Pricketts Fort State Park (map (http://www.wvamaps.com/maps/index.php?place=Pricketts%20Fort%20State%20Park&state=WV&lon=-80.0947&lat=39.5169&pop=0&county=Marion&elev=0&scale=3)), in Marion County, north of Fairmont, West Virginia, preserves the historic landscape around the mouth of Pricketts Creek and includes a restored version of a log fort (c.1774) built to defend settlers from hostile Indians during Dunmore's War. Eighty families could withdraw into the stockade, which enclosed four corner blockhouses and 16 tiny cabins surrounding a small commons.
