Reedsville, West Virginia

A community in Preston County, Reedsville, WV, was incorporated in 1906 and was named for James Reed, of Monongalia County, formerly of Berkeley County, owner of the land upon which a large part of the town was laid out. The Phillips-Jones Electric Vacuum Cleaner Plant operated here in the early 1900s and employed many residents of nearby Arthurdale, WV.

Reedsville is located at the junction of state highways 7 and 29 (WV-7 and WV-29) in an area of broad farms. The swell of the southern Chestnut Ridge rises prominently to the northwest of the community.
