Rumsey Monument State Park (historical)

A two-acre state park once located in Jefferson County, sometimes referred to as the Rumseyan Monument Park. The monument was erected by the state honoring James Rumsey, inventor of the steamboat, being placed overlooking a bend in the Potomac River where the first successful test of Rumsey's steamboat took place in 1787.
