Sissonville, WV, is a small rural community in Kanawha County NE of Charleston, WV, near Interstate 77 (I-77). The community was named for John Sisson, who owned the original townsite. Kanawha County Route No. 21 (CR-21) runs north-to-south through the community. Positioned between exits I-77 114 and 116, Sissonville enjoys convenient interstate-expressway access. The town was established as a lumbering community but is now primarily a residential community and service center for the surrounding farmlands.
