Stretcher Neck
From West Virginia (WV) Cyclopedia
Stretcher Neck, or Stretcher's Neck, is a "neck" of land formed in a meander in the New River west of Prince, WV, in southern West Virginia. The meander has been deeply entrenched by the uplift that has formed the New River Gorge, resulting in a hill that is some 1,960 feet above sea level. The neck may best be known as the site of the Stretchers Neck Tunnel.
