Valley Falls, on the boundary of Taylor County and Marion County, occurs where Tygart Valley River drops over a sandstone shelf at Valley Falls State Park. The Connoquenessing Sandstone forms the cap of the falls over which the river plunges. The Connoquenessing outcrops as ledges and boulders for more than a mile along the river.
