West Fork River

Head, source in western part of Upshur County.
Mouth, junction with Tygart River at Fairmont, WV, in Marion County, to form Monongahela River.

The West Fork of the Monongahela River, also known as the West Fork River, rises in western Upshur County and flows in a northerly direction through Lewis and Harrison counties before joining the Tygart River in Marion County. Along its course, the river flows, from south to north, through the communities of Weston, West Milford, Clarksburg, Shinnston, and Worthington. Upstream of Weston, the river is impounded to form Stonewall Jackson Lake.
