White House Rapids

From West Virginia (WV) Cyclopedia

This Class II/III rapids in the upper New River Gorge whitewater rafting segment are likely formed from colluvial deposition of small boulders from banks upstream. The rapids take their name from a large white frame house that stood near the small tributary downstream of the rapid on river-left. The rapids are most likely formed by colluvial deposition from the river banks.
