Pemberton Coal & Coke Company operated the Affinity mine from 1911 until 1941, with no production shown for 1922 and the period of 1924-1935. During the years of 1928, 1930-33, and 1936 production is listed under the "Affinity & Big Stick" mines. During the years of 1922, 1924-27, and 1929 production is listed under the "Affinity, Big Stick, Phillips, And ,Wat-Wise" mines.

Pemberton Coal & Coke Company operated the Affinity mine from 1911 until 1941, with no production shown for 1922 and the period of 1924-1935. During the years of 1928, 1930-33, and 1936 production is listed under the "Affinity & Big Stick" mines. During the years of 1922, 1924-27, and 1929 production is listed under the "Affinity, Big Stick, Phillips, And ,Wat-Wise" mines.

1914: the Pemberton Coal & Coke Company operated the Affinity mine, a slope and shaft mine working the Beckley seam with an average thickness of 3 feet. The mine employed 30 workers, producing about tons of coal per day. Haulage was by four electric motors and mining done by coal cutting machines. The mine was served by the Virginian Railway. W. A. Phillips was general manager. Total production during the year for the Pemberton Coal Company from its mines at Affinity and Big Stick was 255,280 tons of coal.
